Yesterday was my husband’s birthday. I am married to one of the good guys, as my friend Julia’s mom likes to say. In my mind, of course, he’s better than simply one of the good guys; he’s the best guy. There are a million plus qualities I could list that make him the greatest, and the best friend and husband any girl could ever dream of finding. One big thing on the list, though, is his ability to put up with such a biz-e wife.
Never in my life have I worked so hard as when I started my business, and I know all of you can relate. Through it all, Jim is my sounding board with a sympathetic ear. He listens to me complain about projects that clients want completed at the last minute; rant about clients who won’t pay; obsess over whether I charge too much (“Are you kidding? You deserve way more!); stress about not having enough time to get things done; and on and on. OK, maybe calling him the best husband wasn’t good enough; he’s pretty much a saint – really, you haven’t heard me rant!
Here’s what Jim says about being married to a biz-e-chick:
“I know she’s spent a trying few years growing her business, and I’m very proud of the perseverance that Liz has shown through it all. I’ve tried to be a patient listener while she vents about dealing with clients who don’t want to pay, how to price so she’s competitive without selling herself short and just finding the time to get it all done. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve gone to bed, expecting Liz to be right behind me, only to stumble into the office a few hours later to find her still hard at work. I know it’s been a tough road, but I know that she’s beginning to see the fruits of her labor blossom, not only with KIS Corp., but with the wonderful biz-e-chicks group she is equally passionate about. Being married to a biz-e woman certainly has its challenges, but seeing her succeed is worth every one!”
I told you he was good! Funny how he mentions the same things that I did above! Great minds

This is a new feature we’re starting on the biz-e blog. Because he isn’t doing nearly enough already – note high sarcasm here – have your husband/boyfriend write a little paragraph and tell us what it’s like to be married to a biz-e-chick. You can copy and paste the paragraph as a comment and we’ll post it! We know it’s not always easy being attached to a high-powered, super-networking, well-connected business owner, but, gosh, we are so totally worth it!
